Users can now download a new version of Kaspersky’s security products

Kaspersky has recently started a new beta program for the 2015 version of its security software, so if you wish to have a glimpse into the feature lineup of the next stable products coming from one of the top security companies in the world, this is the right moment to do it.

Basically, both Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security have been included in the 2015 beta testing program, which means that developers and advanced users who can determine the cause of bugs or at least report them to the parent company can give them a try at any time.

The first thing you shall notice after deploying version 2015 15.0.0.284 Beta is the redesigned interface that still reminds of the classic look of the applications, but relies on a flatter and more modern look.

While the design is somewhat similar to what we’ve found in versions 2014, the new build also comes with a home screen and additional tools, but it still lacks advanced settings that could really come in handy to experienced users.

Developers behind the project are, however, claiming that “advanced settings and real-time reports will be implemented in KIS 2015 MR1 and Pure 4.0,” so expect the beta to be improved as we advance through the testing program.

As far as stability and performance are concerned, it’s a bit too early to talk about such things, but it’s pretty clear that the stable products expected to launch sometime this year would be significantly improved in both areas.

At this point, the betas seem to be working quite fine on some computers, but we’ve also heard from users that in some cases, both Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 are becoming highly unstable and basically impossible to use.

Of course, only advanced users are recommended to download the beta version of the two apps and it’s pretty obvious that they’re not intended to be deployed on production machines.

While they should be both capable of providing a high level of security for your computer, some of the bugs and performance issues that might exist in these very early betas could do more harm than good, so make sure that you’re only installing them for testing purposes and not for a full-time experience. Both are obviously working on 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows, starting with XP and ending with 8.1.
