14 DAY TRIAL // Just recently, Chris Brown and Rihanna were photographed together looking quite lovey-dovey, which instantly sent the rumor mill into overdrive as to the true nature of their relationship. His split from girlfriend Karrueche Tran will do nothing to make the rumors go away.
Chris himself has confirmed the breakup in a statement to Us Weekly and, as it happens, he leaves no room for doubt as to how Rihanna was involved in it.
He doesn’t specifically say the two are back together, but he does confirm rumors that Karrueche was none too happy that they were hanging out so much.
“I have decided to be single to focus on my career,” Brown says.
“I love Karrueche very much but I don’t want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I’d rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives,” he adds.
At the same time, friends of his now ex-girlfriend are whispering to the same media outlet that Rihanna was the one who relentlessly pursued Chris until he fell back into her arms.
Other reports online say that, when Karrueche saw photos of them together at a recent public event plastered all over the net, she flipped because she’d finally gotten confirmation that he had been cheating on her with Rihanna, as tabloids have been claiming for a very long while.
Chris Brown and Rihanna split in 2009 after an incident that tarnished his reputation for good. They got into a fight on the drive home and he assaulted her, beating her to a bloody pulp, as the police report noted.
Celebrity gossip lovers must remember that, within weeks after the attack, rumors that they’d reconciled were already making the rounds.
They have just been confirmed, it is being said.
So far, no comment from Rihanna.
