14 DAY TRIAL // Karrueche Tran, the model Chris Brown has been dating on and off since 2011, right after he realized he had no chance of winning Rihanna back (or so he thought at the time), is finally speaking out on what it’s like to be caught in one of the most mediated love triangles of all times.
Right now, Karrueche and Chris are not together anymore, with countless reports saying she broke up with him over the 4th of July weekend after he, like a true gentleman, posted a very revealing and intimate photo of her on his social media accounts.
When she sat down for a chat for BET’s Just Keke, which airs in full tomorrow, July 16, Karrueche was probably still with Chris (or they have reconciled since), because she refers to him as her “boyfriend.” She says that she never imagined being with a celebrity would be so difficult, as the video below will confirm.
It’s not just dating a celebrity that’s hard: as Karrueche found out the hard way, if her famous boyfriend happens to have an even more famous ex to whom he keeps going back, like Chris does with Rihanna, that means she will most definitely get caught in the middle. And 9 times out of 10, she won’t come out the winner.
“Not only am I fighting a battle with her, I'm fighting a battle with her 14 million fans or whoever else. So, imagine how that feels for me when I gotta get on Twitter and I see a whole bunch of stuff. They make up all kinds of crazy stuff and it's, like, they know nothing about me,” Karrueche explains.
“But you know, because they know nothing about me, because I stay so mute sometimes, that leaves open space for them to say whatever they want,” she continues.
Which is exactly what “they” are doing. Many things have been said about her rivalry with Rihanna and their not-so-secret feud, which is reignited every time Chris goes back and forth between them.
Since 2012 and until just recently, when Rihanna told him that she was done with him for good and that he was not to look for her, he seemed unable to decide which of these two women he wanted to be with.
It broke Karrueche’s heart, she admits candidly in the interview, bursting into tears when asked about the “hardest part of this situation.”
“Um, jeez. I guess I would say the heartbreak because it was a real situation,” she says, struggling to fight back the tears. “Yeah, it was a real life situation.”
This is officially the first time that Karrueche talks about Chris Brown, Rihanna, and their love triangle, and you can see it was not an easy thing for her to do.
