Chanel designer is famous for his dislikes and how no one can do anything about it

Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, aka Uncle Karl, is as famous for his open dislikes as he is for his designs and his photography. Lea Michele, star of the Fox musical series “Glee,” has accidentally landed on his blacklist, a new report suggests.

Lea’s fashion style is a hit-and-miss most of the times, though she makes up for it with her winning personality and the fact that she never takes herself too seriously. At the MET Gala 2014, for instance, which was held a couple of weeks ago in NYC, Lea wore the golden number shown in the picture above and landed on fashion pundits’ worst dressed list.

Karl is not a fan of her look either, Star magazine claims in its latest print issue (story via CB). Insiders tell the mag that Largerfeld “has refused to lend Lea any of his gowns for red carpet appearances, because he doesn’t like her ‘look’.”

To add insult to injury, he didn’t even bother to let Lea know about his decision.

“She is going to be livid and freak out, but there’s no string that any stylist can pull,” a spy is quoted as saying. “She is more than welcome to purchase the dresses, but having them lent to her isn’t an option.”

However, the number of cases of celebrities who actually go out to buy a designer outfit off the rack to wear on a red carpet is very small and that’s because, as a rule, stars of a certain caliber are being offered everything they need for one such appearance by the designers themselves: gowns, shoes, purses, and accessories.

By extension, you could say that only someone who’s not a real star would need to buy their own outfit, but that’s not necessarily applicable all the time. Hayden Panettiere, for instance, bough her own Tom Ford dress for the Golden Globes 2014.

In her case, it was not so much as a situation in which she couldn’t get the dress as a loaner but, as she explained to reporters on the red carpet, of seeing it in a store and wanting it so badly that she was actually willing to pay for it.

Lea could do the same if she ever saw something from Chanel she’d like, if Lagerfeld refuses to give her loaners. The other option would be, naturally, to wear something else: Lea is now big with Calvin Klein and Elie Saab, so it’s not like she’s actually in desperate need for big-name designer outfits, is she?
