Eccentric fashion designer says pet is more than just his companion

Every now and then, designer Karl Lagerfeld tends to say the most shocking things ever but, even by those standards, his admission that he’d marry his kitty is outlandish. Check it out in the video below.

Uncle Karl sat down for an interview with CNN just recently and, at one point, the conversation turned to his pet cat, Miss Choupette.

For those who don’t know, Choupette isn’t just a cat: she has three maids and a private jet to fly her around the world to meet her “daddy,” lives only in complete luxury, and even has her own Twitter page, where she posts pictures to boast about it.

Asked about all that, Lagerfeld smiles and says, “sure, why not?”

He also muses that he’d marry Choupette if it was an option, though chances are he doesn’t meant it literally.

“There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals… I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat,” the eccentric fashion designer says.

Choupette is definitely cuteness personified but, at the end of the day, we do hope Lagerfeld realizes she is just a cat.

In other Lagerfeld-related news, he also has a recent interview with Styleist in which he talks about endorsing anything from toilet paper to support stockings if he deems the products in good taste, but also throws some shade at Andy Warhol, to whom he was often compared.

He also says that he never associates with people who complain they’re bored because life is too short not to make the most of every single minute.

“The things that are not happening as I wish [make me angry]. The things that take time, people who say they are bored, even though I don't spend time with these kinds of people. I think it's a crime to say you are bored when time is so precious and there are so many things to do in life: read, learn, watch,” he says.
