We reported over the course of this month about two Android One smartphones getting the new Android 5.1 Lollipop update in India. Micromax Canvas A1 was the first to receive the update, soon followed by Spice Dream Uno.

Today is a good day for Karbonn fans who own the Sparkle V smartphone. It looks like this is the last of Android One handsets released in India that is now receiving the highly anticipated Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

According to Indian blog WhatsOnTech, many Karbonn Sparkle V owners have reported to have gotten the Android 5.1 Lollipop update on their devices.

The cited source claims the size of update is about 410MB in size, so you might want to connect your smartphone to a stable Wi-Fi network to avoid any mobile data charges.

Sparkle V is the last Android One to receive the update in India

The official changelog doesn't tell us too much about this update, just that it upgrades the phone's software to Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is supposed to improve performance and stability.

Also, some bug fixes and under-the-hood changes have been implemented as well, so expect your Karbonn Sparkle V to be faster and less buggy.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might not arrive for all Karbonn Sparkle V smartphones. If you haven't been notified on the update, you might want to check for it manually.

Simply head to Setttings / About phone / Software updates / Check update / Download and install. If the update is not available yet, then you should check for it later.

It's also worth mentioning that you will need at least 1.2GB of free storage to install Android 5.1 Lollipop, as well as more than 50% battery. The update should not erase any data from your phone, but you might want to back up yours just to be safe.
