Mobile phone maker Karbonn is getting ready for the launch of a new Android-based smartphone, in the form of S6 Titanium, which should land on shelves as a response to the recently teased Micromax Canvas 4, and July appears to be the lucky month for enthusiasts.

The upcoming mobile phone is expected to pack a good quality build, the same as other handsets in the Titanium series, though that would also imply a higher price tag, a recent post on technosamigos reads.

Running under Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the new mobile phone should be launched sometime in the second week of July with a price tag of less than Rs 20,000 ($346 / €260), Pradeep Jain, managing director of Karbonn Mobiles, reportedly said.

No official details on what the device will have to offer have been provided as of now, but rumors on its hardware specs have already emerged online.

The phone is said to hit shelves with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of a full HD resolution, and is also expected to include a quad-core processor inside.

Furthermore, the handset should arrive on the market with 1GB of RAM, Dual-SIM capabilities, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi tethering, Bluetooth connectivity, and the like.

On the back, it is said to feature an 8-megapixel or 13-megapixel photo snapper, paired with a 3MP front camera to enable its users to make video calls while on the go.

Overall, the new device should prove a nice upgrade over the Karbonn S5 Titanium handset, which was released with a 5-inch multi-touch qHD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on top out of the box.

As mentioned above, the S6 Titanium will sport a 1080p full HD screen, which would make it the first smartphone in the company’s lineup to boast such a high resolution. Keep an eye on this space for more on this device’s arrival.
