Starting today, mobile phone users in India can purchase yet another entry-level smartphone coming from Karbonn, none other than the Karbonn A25+, which was silently released in the country and is now up for grabs through online retailers.

The phone can now be bought through Snapdeal.com, where it is available at only Rs. 5,799 ($96/€69), all dressed up in white.

The handset is available in a Black color version as well, listed at Rs. 5,834 ($97/€70), but though those of you interested in purchasing this variant of the device will find it listed as out of stock at the moment.

As the price tag that the new device features suggests, the phone is not capable of offering top-performance capabilities, though the hardware specifications it was launched with are quite decent for the market segment it is targeted at.

Karbonn A25+ comes with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution and is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor.

Moreover, the new mobile phone arrives on shelves with 512MB of RAM packed inside, as well as with 4GB of internal storage. A microSD memory card slot was also included in the package, providing support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the new handset sports a 5-megapixel camera, which should feature video recording capabilities, though it won’t snap them in full HD resolution. A VGA front camera is also available on this phone.

The specifications list of the new handset also includes an 1800mAh battery, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.

At the same time, the new Karbonn A25+ arrives on the market with dual-SIM functionality, so as to allow users to carry more than a single-SIM card with them at all times, a feature highly popular among users in India.

Karbonn launched the Karbonn A25+ with Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, though there’s no telling whether it will provide users with an upgrade to a newer OS version sometime in the future.

As AndroidOS notes, the one thing that is missing from the smartphone is support for 3G networks. There was no mention of this feature being included in the device, and we should assume that it is not there.

Even so, the handset appears as a good option for users on a budget and might be able to prove a worthy competitor for phones such as Lava IRIS 405+, Micromax Bolt A068, and others.
