Here are the official results of the much-hyped battle of the superstar rappers. And the winner is...Kanye West. While I'm sure it's no longer such a big surprise, seeing how intermediary evaluations throughout the week placed Kanye's "Graduation" way over Fiddy's "Curtis" in terms of sold copies, it's always best to keep that campaign on ice until the official results come in. And the official statistics show that Kanye outsold 50 Cent big time.

West's 'Graduation' sold 957.000 copies this past week. 50's 'Curtis' trailed with 691.000 copies. This marks a new personal best for Kanye, whose previous album, 'Late Registration', spent two weeks at No. 1 and sold 860.000 copies in the first week after its release in 2005. 50 Cent's previous release, The Massacre, opened to 1.1 million units in March 2005 and spent six weeks at number 1. All the more disappointing for Fiddy, who now has a bit of a dilemma on his hands: will he do as he promised and never release a solo album again or will he go back on his word and stay in the game?

Honestly, I don't envy Fiddy. West has a big mouth and an even bigger ego, and despite his whining and constant bitching around he has beaten 50 at his own game. If memory serves, it was Fiddy who started this ultra-hyped media war against Kanye, and his defeat will not go unnoticed.

What's more, it appears that Fiddy is so upset he's decided to cancel his entire European tour - which will definitely not please his fans on the other side of the ocean. "50 Cent is very sad to confirm that due to a last-minute, unforeseen and unanticipated change in his schedule, he will have to postpone his European promotion trip from September 18-25", it is said in an official statement released by his label.

I'd hate to think 50 is a sore loser - but then again, who am I to understand the movers and shakers of the rapping industry? I do wonder one thing, though: is Kanye West happy with his victory, or is there still something that he feels he should comment on? We don't know yet, but we'll soon see - and keep you posted on the evolution of events.
