14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian turned 34 last week, and in case you were wondering what the woman who has it all gets for a birthday present, we have the answer: she gets one of the most expensive handbags in the world, hand painted by her 1-year-old daughter.
In a new interview cited by the Daily Mail, the reality star admits that husband Kanye West presented her with yet another exclusive (and super expensive) Hermes Birkin bag, but that wasn’t the surprise he had prepared for her.
The fact that their little daughter North West helped with painting it was.

According to Kim, the best birthday present she got this year came (where else?) from her husband: she was handed a beautiful box and she found inside a Birkin bag, literally the most coveted tote in the world.
Each Birkin item is handmade from only the finest selections of skins, which means that its manufacture can take up to a couple of years. This is also how much people on waiting lists have to wait until they get their hands on one, but not before they’re parted with many thousands of dollars.
In short, Hermes Birkin bags are very valuable fashion items; more than that, they’re collector’s pieces.
Kim got to add another one to her already impressive collection, but her biggest surprise was to see a video in which North, who turned 1 last summer, was manually painting it.
“I thought it was an artist that painted the purse, some custom thing. I thought it was some new artist, and it was my daughter. It was amazing and I have it all on video,” Kim gushes.

As amazing as an idea for such a present would seem, it’s not entirely original: in doing so, Kanye is actually copying himself, though hopefully with better results.
A while back, he gave Kim another hand painted Birkin as a Christmas present, this time based on his own artistic visuals, involving a bunch of naked women with animal faces. The result was an obscene item (you can see it here) that Kim probably didn’t like that much since she only took it out once, the very next day after she received it.
Kim is rich enough to be able to never do a fashion repeat, whether it concerns shoes, bags, or clothes, but you can really tell whenever she has a new something that she fancies, because she will not part with it for at least one week.
So, if she didn’t take out the Kanye Birkin, it’s probably because she didn’t appreciate it. Well, either that or she has it locked up in her own personal museum because it’s that artsy and priceless.
Expect her to take out the North painted Birkin any day now, to show it off.
