It would seem that the good people of France don't have the same love for the famous couple of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West that people back in States have - at least according to a recent report by Radar, which says the couple wasn't allowed to have their nuptials at Versailles.

It's been speculated before that Kanye and Kim had their eyes fixed on the former royal palace located just outside of Paris, but the rumors were confirmed over the weekend when the two made a visit to Versailles.

There is no doubt that they had a talk with the officials there about a possible ceremony being held in their lovely establishment, but it looks as though they were shot down.

While some large spaces within the Palace, like the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Opera are available for hire for special occasions that could include up to 600 people, the couple were told their wedding could not be accommodated.

“Kim and Kanye really wanted to get married at Versailles and were both hoping to persuade officials during their visit…ultimately it backfired. It was still a firm no,” an insider told the media.

The reason for that is not money, even if renting out a hall in the palace of Versailles costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the fact that a wedding or reception would be too intrusive for visitors of the palace and its staff.

For those who have been to Versailles before, it's a known fact that it represents a huge attraction with long lines queuing up to the gates every day of the year. So it's hard to think that they would be eager to shut it down for a day so that Kim and Kanye could have their wedding.

The disgruntled couple is now said to be looking for a different venue. For the rest of us, small folk, it's a lesson learned: money and fame really can't buy you everything, although it's safe to say this was a revealing experience for Kimye as well.
