Since he’s almost done working for his upcoming album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” Kanye West has also found some time to work on another project: one with Jay Z, which has turned out to be a full-length studio album.

Kanye himself has confirmed the good news in a recent interview with MTV, as cited by Entertainment Weekly’s MusicMix – but he doesn’t say when fans should expect the album to arrive in music stores.

“Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaborative Watch the Throne project has grown into a full-length album,” EW reports. Initially, the project was meant to be much smaller.

“West originally announced this summer that he and his mentor were recording a five-song EP together,” EW says. Many things seem to have changed along the way.

“We’re putting out a whole album now. We did like five [songs] so far, and then a few of them kind of were out there, and I put them on my album. Sorry, Jay!” Kanye reveals in the aforementioned MTV interview.

According to EW, the rapper must be referring to songs such as “Monster” and “So Appalled,” which he’s already offered to fans as free downloads.

“But we’ve got some more, and we’re going to the south of France at the end of this month just to record our ideas,” the rapper adds in the same interview.

Clearly, Kanye has been keeping very busy lately, what with this upcoming joint album, and working and promoting his own studio material, the aforementioned “Fantasy.”

After garnering some media attention for claiming Walmart had banned the cover of “Fantasy” because of the artwork on it, Kanye gained international media attention with the release of a 34-minute short film, his directorial debut.

Called “Runaway” and starring Kanye himself and model Selita Ebanks, the short film, which also showcases 9 brand new songs off the upcoming “Fantasy” is hailed as critics as real, provocative and challenging art, as we also informed you a few days ago.

Some fans may see it as a blatantly obvious way for Kanye to feed his huge ego, but critics stand by their words: only art can spark this kind of intense reaction (be it positive or negative) in the viewer.
