Shortly after the Taylor Swift scandal, caused by his massive ego and rude manners, Kanye West promised that he would still be around for 2010: and that has just become true, with his promise that he’ll release a new single every week until Christmas.

Those wondering what the rapper has been doing this entire year that he spent out of the spotlight (more or less), need wonder no more: he’s been in the recording studio, working for his fans.

In a bold statement on his official page, Kanye has announced that he’s again returning to the basics and focusing on his millions of fans once more, by giving them a new song every week from now until Christmas.

This may sound like a too daring statement, but for those who know the kind of ego Kanye has and how much value he places on his work, it shouldn’t come as a surprise, MTV News says.

“I know y’all need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas,” Kanye announced. “It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc.” he added.

Since this is Kanye we’re talking about, the day when the song will arrive online will be a sort of (inter)national holiday that the rapper calls “G.O.O.D. Fridays.”

“y’all know every Friday y’all gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now... It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped ‘See Me Now’... it wasn’t about me, it was about the Summer the BBQs etc.” Kanye explains.

The “See Me Now” track to which he refers, a collaboration with Beyonce and Charlie Wilson, has been received with mixed feelings, with many a fan saying it hardly represents a step further for him as an artist because of the resemblance with his “College Dropout” days.

However, many fans were pleased about it – and did not fail to make themselves heard on dedicated channels, the same media outlet says. For them, Kanye has even more surprises in store.

Like a movie based on his upcoming album, MTV News writes. “Working on the movie... unicorns and RZA beats yo,” Kanye wrote on his Twitter page, stopping here with the details on the new project.

As of now, a publicist for Kanye to confirm both the “G.O.O.D. Fridays” initiative and the upcoming film has not been immediately available.
