His true vision was not realized due to budget constraints

The true reason for the weird Kardashian Christmas card that baffled fans and media outlets alike is being revealed by Radar. As it turns out, the visually complicated and extremely expensive Kardashian card was masterminded by singer Kanye West.

But the end result is in no way what the “Yeezy” singer had envisioned. The main reason for that is, believe it or not, financial restraints.

Since the photo shoot was made by the network airing the show, there was a budget of a quarter of a million dollars and Kanye somehow managed to blow it all.

Kanye took his role as creative director very seriously, as reported by a close source, “It turns out that Kanye was the puppet master behind the photo shoot, as he provided art direction, sketches, and costume and makeup ideas.”

If to you the photo looks like a random gathering of elements, to Kanye it all makes sense.

David LaChappelle, the photographer responsible for the entire shoot wasn't even Kanye's first choice. Apparently, he wanted to go with either Annie Leibovitz or Mario Testino, but none of them was up for the job, so Kanye had to settle for LaChapelle.

The first contacted for the shoot was Annie Leibovitz, but she demanded a price that was more than the budget so they were forced to look elsewhere. Testino was the second one on the list, but he shrugged off the opportunity as “a total nightmare assignment.”

The source explains that “David was, at best, the third choice and one dictated more by budget than Kanye’s much-vaunted ‘vision.’” Now, after pretty much everyone in the media put in their two cents as to what could the picture represent, it would be nice if Kanye West came up with his explanation of what it really meant.
