Kanye West has big plans for his hit album “Yeezus,” even if the tour is beginning to show disappointing ticket sales. The rapper is determined to continue the project but not in its current state, as news is emerging he's working on a film adaption.

The news comes from Bret Easton, the acclaimed writer of “American Psycho,” who reveals in an interview with Vice that Kanye came up to him and asked him to pen the screenplay. Easton admits that it took some time to get on board with the project.

“He came and asked me to write the film. I didn't want to at first. Then I listened to ‘Yeezus,’” Bret explains. “It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He'd given me an advance copy and I thought, regardless of whether I'm right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this.”

The novelist admitted to becoming fond of the controversial singer and finally relenting to write for him. “So [expletive] it, I said yes. And that's how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We'll see what happens,” he added.

But from that experience, it seems the two men found they had something in common as they've now become friends. In fact, Bret has nothing but kind words for Kanye, “I know he comes off in this performance art way in the press, but if you're just alone with him in a room talking for three hours, it's kind of mind-blowing.”

Bret Easton Ellis is an American novelist known for his zeitgeist books such as “Less Than Zero,” “American Psycho” and “Lunar Park,” in which he satirizes our current society.
