14 DAY TRIAL // Imma let you finish Kanye is back! After a prolonged absence from Twitter, the rapper and fashion designer is back on social media and – Guillermo del Toro fans, brace yourselves! – praising “Pacific Rim.”
The film isn’t out in theaters yet but, if you think about it, having Kanye plug it on Twitter to his 9.5 million followers is better than any marketing strategy in the world.
“I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it’s easily one of my favorite movies of all time,” the rapper tweeted the other day.
“This is not another ‘Robot’ movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master,” he added.
Directed by del Toro, “Pacific Rim” tells how man invented giant robots to fight giant monsters risen from the sea and threatening to destroy our planet.
The initial reaction to promo materials was something along the lines of “this is Transformers meets the Kraken,” which, you will agree, is not a good thing.
Now, you can either take Kanye’s word that “Pacific Rim” is more than that, or you can check it out for yourself when it opens in theaters next Friday.
