14 DAY TRIAL // Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have recently welcomed their first child together and word online is they might even be engaged – if they’re not yet, they will be soon, allegedly. However, Kanye’s new W Magazine interview reveals that he and his future mother-in-law Kris Jenner can’t really stand each other.
Christopher Bagley, the writer for the magazine who got to speak with the rapper on several occasions for the piece, which is actually meant to promote his new album “Yeezus,” is the first to note the awkwardness between the two, when Kris joins them at Kanye’s new apartment.
“He plays her some of his unfinished songs, including 'Awesome', which is clearly about Kim. When she exclaims, ‘Great job!’ West doesn’t find it as flattering as Jenner evidently intended,” W writes.
“Awesome” isn’t just a song about Kim, it’s also a song in which Kanye tells Kim she’s too hot to listen to her manager, who happens to be her mother Kris.
This explains why he didn’t appreciate Kris’ not praising the song more, which he made sure she knew on the spot.
“He raises his eyebrows. ‘Great job?’ he says and sets off on a comic riff that cracks up everyone in the room. Toasting with his champagne glass, he says, ‘Great job, Baccarat, for making a glass that can hold liquid!’ He looks down at his waist. ‘Great job, belt loops, for keeping my pants up!’” W writes.
“Jenner laughs off the mockery but soon is ready to leave. Hugging West goodbye, she tells him, ‘I love you. You know where to find us, at the George V. Call us tomorrow, if you want.’ It seems apparent to everyone, including Jenner, that West will not call,” the editorial further notes.
In the same interview with Bagley, but on a separate day, Kanye also talked about his love for Kim and how much criticism she gets for her fashion choices. He says her taking such risks is proof of how much she loves him.
