Only in less delicate terms

It’s not just celebrities from showbiz that are rallying up against rapper Kanye West for his outburst at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, as President Barack Obama too has a very strong opinion as regards the scandal. As ABC News reporter Terry Moran Tweeted during a press conference, Obama thinks Kanye is a moron – ABC News has apologized in the meantime for the Tweet of something that was supposed to be off the record.

Apparently, the President made the remark during a press conference and Moran caught wind of it and immediately Tweeted about it. “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jack-[expletive]’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.” Moran wrote on his Twitter page, in between updates on issues pertaining to politics alone. The moment the Tweet got on the Internet and began to circulate on celebrity blogs, ABC News was forced to issue an apology.

“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely Tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.” a statement from ABC News reads. The White House has yet to comment on the situation.

As it’s already common knowledge, rapper Kanye West made a complete fool of himself at this edition of the VMAs, storming on stage presumably under the influence of alcohol, taking the microphone from Taylor Swift’s hand and interrupting her as she was about to give her acceptance speech for winning in the Best Female Video category. Kanye told the audience that Beyonce should have won and then, to everyone’s surprise, simply turned his back to them and left.

Since the incident, the rapper has already apologized three times, each time promising he would also meet face to face with Taylor to tell her in person just how sorry he was for ruining her moment and acting as President Obama put it so wonderfully in the off-the-record part of the interview.
