Yesterday, a clip believed to be the official music video for Kanye West’s latest single, “Black Skinhead,” emerged online. As it turns out, that was not the final version and the rapper is absolutely heartbroken over the leak.

As the vid started to make the rounds online (and either amuse or wow fans, for reasons I explained yesterday), Kanye took to his Twitter to say that it should have never come out when it did.

“Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it's heartbreaking when something like this happens. The final version will be ready within the next week,” he says.

“So any website that may have the unapproved / unfinished ruff. I ask you to please take it down. Allow me and Nick to give the world what we've been losing sleep over,” he adds.

Uncharacteristically, Kanye is being nice in his request, not using CAPS or yelling at those hosting the video. He does, however, have a couple of choice words for those who leaked it, which I won’t reproduce here.

As of the time of writing, most of the websites had taken it down.
