Kanye West Has Twitter Breakdown, Says No More Interviews

Kanye West throws Twitter tantrum, says he’s done with the media, no more interviews
Enlarge picture
Though he promised he’d do his best to be a “good celebrity” and not just an awesome creative person, Kanye West has had it with the media – as he clearly states in a long rant on his official Twitter page.

What prompted the breakdown and the promise of not doing any interviews from now on, it seems, was a taping for Matt Lauer’s show, where the host allegedly tried to force him into saying things he didn’t want to say.

As the rapper puts it, Kanye only agreed to do the interview because he wanted to show he was “empathetic” to George Bush, whom he once labeled a racist, because now too he was tagged as such.

“I don't mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show… and that’s a very nice way for me to put it!” Kanye says. Yet what happened on the show was more than he could take, so he’s coming out with it – in his trademark caps.

“HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT,” Kanye tweets.

“I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused,” he goes on to say.

“I don’t trust anyone but myself! Everyone has an agenda. I don’t do press anymore. I can’t be everything to everybody anymore. I can’t be everybody’s hero and villain savior and sinner Christian and anti Christ!” he also writes.

He’s now come to the conclusion that the media is deliberately trying to find fault with him because that’s the only way it can sell, which means he will be criticized no matter what he does or says.

In the end, these things shouldn’t even matter, he explains: because all he wants to do is to create. He’s also come to understand how Michael Jackson must have felt.

“I wish Michael Jackson had twitter!!!!!! Maybe Mike could have explained how the media tried to set him up!!! It's all a [expletive] set up!!!! This is rock and roll life my people… you can’t stop the truth you can’t stop the music and I have to be strong or ‘they’ win!!!!” Kanye concludes by saying.

Matt didnt' do anything to you.
Stand up like a man and take it.
If you can't take it, then don't dish it.
You really showed who you are with Taylor
Swift, and nobody will forget that.
Most of us don't have the same opinion of you
as you do. Period.

Kanye, you are a hollow shell of a man. You are racist and did not own up in any way, shape or form to the comments you made to and about President Bush or Taylor Swift. You have skirted the issues several times. I don't want to EVER want to hear your name again! Go live under a rock! You are a LOSER!!

Kayne is an "idiot," it's just that plain and it's just that simple! He should just slip into obscurity, never to be heard from or twitter from again.

Comment #10 by: collegenurse on 11 Nov 2010, 19:11 UTC reply to this comment

Kanye needs to grow up...he has no problem blurting out his reactions but then gets upset when he is called out on them.
Hide behind tweeting Kanye...man up.

Kanye is a waste of human life, time to grow up

I agree with him. An abvious set up. Us that can see through the Matt's in the media know the truth. Pun intended. I only watched the program to see Bus and Kanye. Won't ever again.

Dude does not matter. He gets way better than he deserves. Why would the Today show even have this jokester on? No one cares about Kanye West...he doesnt matter in the whole scheme of things. He has to create chaos to get his name out there...Please DEEZY.... leave us alone!

Comment #14 by: Mr. G on 11 Nov 2010, 19:25 UTC reply to this comment

If you can't stand the heat Kanye, get out of the fire. This is a man who doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. If you're going to be ignorant then be prepared for the criticism and negative media attention. You live in a glass house dude, everything you say and do will be used against you. Look at your peers and follow those who know how to handle the spotlight (JZ for one). Keep a low profile until it's time to come back out and be prepared for more criticism, because you made it happen.

Comment #15 by: Modoc on 11 Nov 2010, 19:32 UTC reply to this comment

I, too, felt Matt baited Kanye. And I'm
white! I thought
Kanye explained himself well. Remember, Kanye, there's no "bad"
publicity. Remember, too, that your
words have power, so choose them carefully.

Matt Lauer is a has been, he's trying too hard and it shows, is obvious that he likes anything against Bush.

Kayne West is such a bigot. That was no apology to Bush. He should have just told the truth and said thet he was the racist one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment #20 by: kimmrom on 11 Nov 2010, 19:39 UTC reply to this comment

Really Kanye? Comparing himself to Michael Jackson...that's like comparing a McDonald's hamburger to Filet Mignon. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and close your diamond studded mouth and just go away. Couldn't be happier not to see or hear you on tv or radio anymore.

Kanye is a * ! He alone has created all the bad will and negative vibes towards him yet he can't figure out why no one loves him. Look in the mirror! The self proclaimed "voice of a generation" is nothing but a whiner.

Comment #24 by: Right Wing on 11 Nov 2010, 19:57 UTC reply to this comment

Hope he does what he says because, quite frankly, most of America is sick of hearing about his antics and whining. Please, lay low for a while, Kanye. Become reborn after some years of self reflection, please!

Comment #25 by: Expeditionary on 11 Nov 2010, 20:11 UTC reply to this comment

Sorry, empathy is not an apology. If he was truly sorry then why wait till now to express "empathy". Mr. West clearly isn't too "well thought out". He can't run from what he says and it's all the media's fault, so he says. He tries to act all tough on his albums but clearly he's about as grown up as a 6 year old. Everyone can see right through his feel sorry for me speaches. By continually bringing race into his hate speeches again and again it's pretty obvious who the racist is. Maybe his followers are stupid enough to listen to his dribble but the majority are smart enough to know better. He must really like the taste of his foot because it's always in his mouth.

Kanye is a joke. Watch his interview with Lauer, he acts like a child. Time to grow up and realize he played the race card too much, and it's coming back to bite him.

Comment #36 by: Danny V on 11 Nov 2010, 22:31 UTC reply to this comment

Wow.... Paranoid Much? The set up for the that interview with the clips being played as they asked questions is pretty standard fair on that show. Was Kanye expecting special treatment?

The only issue I have with TTS is there misquoting of Bush's statement that this was "One of the most disgusting moments of my Presidency". Lauer started his interview with Kanye by misquoting Bush as saying "It was the worst moment of his Presidency." Was that intentional or are they just that sloppy over there? If it was done intentionally than that's not cool Lauer!

Comment #37 by: SickOfIt on 11 Nov 2010, 22:40 UTC reply to this comment

West is an untalented pretentious scumbag. Just like his hero probable future running mate Obozo without his teleprompter, without his rythym box, pre-printed lyrics and rudimentary sense of rhyme he comes across as an immature imbecile with poor impulse control. When he gets called on his behavior he blames everybody else. If the media ignored him instead of splattering it all over the news as actually pertinent every time he waves his arms around or breaks wind, let alone has a drunken tantrum at an awards ceremony or beats the crap out of his girlfriend, he'd be working at Wal-Mart in 6 months.

Kanye West is nuts, he needs to stick to rapping, he has a hard time expressing himself when he talks.
Kanye, stop making up words and stop trying to use the big words it just makes you look stupid!

Kanya is a cry baby! Very full of himself saying " He can't be everybody's hero" !!
Guess What Kanya, You are nobody's hero....and seem's you can't take responsiability for his bad behavior like a man.

Comment #44 by: JussMe on 11 Nov 2010, 23:07 UTC reply to this comment

Kanye is an * . If he spoke the truth then he wouldnt be so upset. He could have answered Matt Lauer's questions any way he wanted to instead of trying to say what he thinks America wants to hear. I didn't see him being "forced" to say anything. Kanye's problem is he thinks he is so * smart but he lacks common sense and common courtesy.

Comment #45 by: azgary on 11 Nov 2010, 23:12 UTC reply to this comment

I'm not very familiar with his music, but I understand, he is very popular. He needs to sing and not talk. He isn't very articulate with his words. Many singers are smart enough to just sing and not make a fool of themselves by talking.

Comment #46 by: KanyeWestSUCKS on 11 Nov 2010, 23:22 UTC reply to this comment

Kanye West sucks! He's uneducated, focuses on using big words rather than the meaning, sucks as a "rapper" if you can even call it that, and KANYE WEST IS THE RACIST. Try just shutting your mouth Kanye and that would be the best music you could perform. Peace.

Kanye is a man child a spoiled rotten brat who just might be a racist all he needed to say was he was sorry that's it and he couldn't even do that ..no matter what magical words he was looking for "I"m sorry was it

Good; maybe he will just fade away and we won't have to listen to his excuses that keep him from being a decent human being!

Comment #54 by: Pookymaker on 11 Nov 2010, 23:44 UTC reply to this comment

I just saw Kanye's interview with Matt Lauer and I must say, that I was impressed. I get sooooo tired of black people being quick to yell "racism" where none exists. To see one actually recognize in hind sight that they did not have all the information at the time and publicly "empathize" with one of us is refreshing. It was obvious that he was speaking from his heart and Matt was being a * (Really? You had to air his other misbehaviour? It may be standard operating procedure to do so, but that was really insensitive considering he was trying to rectify a past wrong and you were rubbing his face in another one). I just want to tell Kanye, kudos on this one.

Comment #57 by: emery on 12 Nov 2010, 00:29 UTC reply to this comment

What Matt Lauer was trying to get him to say is "I'm sorry" and all Mr. West wanted to say was that he was "empathetic". And the idea that he thinks he can compare himself to Michael Jackson.....? I think he can drop the "em" from "empathetic" and that would be a better word for what Mr. West is.

Comment #58 by: Hawthorne on 12 Nov 2010, 00:35 UTC reply to this comment

I felt sorry for the guy. He's obviously just a * thug trying to sound intelligent but just couldn't come up with the vocabulary to do it. So being typical for his type, he just gets mad at people around him and tries to act like he's the cool one. Bottom line, no apology necessary. However, if a white artist/actor had made any comments even remotely similar about a black person....that's one career down the drain. Don't worry Kanye...you can say whatever the hell you want to.
