It’s only a few years that Kanye West was singing about blood diamonds, but many things have changed since then. For instance, he thinks diamond teeth are much “cooler” than the one he was born with.

The rapper was on Ellen DeGeneres the other day to talk about his spiritual journey in the aftermath of the Taylor Swift scandal, his upcoming album and his new, custom-made jewelry.

As we were also telling you earlier today, this is the first television interview Kanye did to promote his forthcoming album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” in which he also talks about what he did after the scandal blew up in the media.

Also now, he boasts about the diamonds in his mouth, which, he cares to point out to Ellen, are not a grill but his actual teeth now.

In other words, as the video below will also confirm, Kanye claims he went to the dentist and had all his lower teeth taken out and replaced by gold and diamonds.

“I just thought that diamonds were cooler,” he says. “It’s really my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth. I guess there's just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do,” Kanye says.

In the same interview, the rapper also talks about how he doesn’t believe he’d be attending any awards ceremonies soon and how what happened at the VMAs 2009 made of him a “soldier of culture.”

“For your whole world to completely crash off of a moment of sincerity or alcohol or whatever it is… I feel like in some ways I’m a soldier of culture,” he says of the Taylor Swift incident.

“I realize that no one wants that to be my job and I’ll never go onstage again. I’ll never sit in an awards show again,” he adds.

“Will I feel convicted about things that really meant stuff to culture that constantly get denied for years and years? I’m sorry I will. I cannot lie about it to sell records,” the rapper says.

To this, Ellen replies that she can’t but wish him to attend as many events and awards ceremonies as possible – which he will probably do, since he has a new album coming out.
