Music fans waiting for a stellar live performance from Kanye West at the 2014 edition of London’s Wireless Festival, where he was one of the headliners, also had to suffer another 20-minute rant from him, on topics as varied as racism, discrimination, music, fashion, genius, and, of course, Kim Kardashian.

You don’t have to be a Kanye West fan or even a Kim Kardashian one to know that he believes her the second best thing to happen to showbiz since Marilyn Monroe, to whom he often compares her.

For Kanye, it doesn’t matter that Kim doesn’t really have an actual talent, just like it also doesn’t matter that she rose to fame by making and leaking her own adult tape, after she’d gotten her foot through the door by being Paris Hilton’s assistant and sidekick.

There is absolutely no woman greater, smarter, better, and more beautiful than Kim and, if he’d only speak from his perspective, no one would mind because it would be normal for him to say these things. Each man loves his wife the most and thinks she’s the best, right? At least at first, or at least in theory.

But no, Kanye wants the world to hear it and, somewhat ironically, he wants the entire world to agree with him. Let’s all agree right now that this will never happen. It can’t, it is impossible.

Still, Kanye did bring Kim’s name while up on stage last night at the music festival. Luckily for fans who had paid a lot of money for the show and were perhaps very uninterested in the reality star’s (imagined or not) merits, he didn’t sing her praises. Instead, he revealed a little-known fact even to celebrity gossip lovers.

“[expletive] saving face and what it's supposed to mean, it's about living my dream,” Kanye told the audience, as cited by the Daily Mail. “I told Kim seven years ago I would marry her and I made it happen. I just wanted to make something awesome and be awesome and change the world, and that's exactly what I plan to do.”

He didn’t say how he planned to change the world but one assumes it’s got to do with his genius. Eventually, people will own up to Kanye’s greatness and this is probably when this change will happen.

As for the revelation that his first proposal came 7 years ago, he’s likely not lying. He did say in older interviews that he fell in love with Kim the moment he set his eyes on her many years back, and that he somehow always “knew” they would be together.

Kim and Kanye were good friends for a very long time, but she only agreed to go out with him after her marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries ended after just 72 days. They have been together since, and even have a daughter together, North West, who is 1.

The duo were married in Italy this year. Of course, to paraphrase Kanye, it was the most important social event of all time.
