Accidents do happen, and it’s not just female entertainers who are prone to them in live concert. During a gig in Norway the other night, rapper Kanye West fell down hard in mid-song. Like a champ, he got up and continued performing.

Performing in front of an elaborate stage set and of thousands of fans, Kanye launched into a Rihanna- and Kid Cudi-less rendition of “All of the Lights,” off his chart-topping album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”

At one point, as he gets a bit more agitated and jumps a couple of times, Kanye loses his footing and falls down flat on his back, with his legs up in the air, as the video below will confirm.

For a few seconds, he just lies there and doesn’t get up. Then, he springs up and continues singing as if nothing had happened – but, as expected, news that Kanye fell in concert did not escape the notice of the many celebrity bloggers and fans who love his music but dislike his personality.

This explains why “He must have tripped on his own ego” is one of the most frequent comments that appear to this story on most dedicated forums, though many also give him credit for getting up and moving forward with the performance.

This particular incident comes quick on the heels of a story about how Kanye went on one of his trademark rants in another concert, comparing himself to Adolf Hitler and Michael Jordan almost in the same breath.

“I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I’m [expletive]-ing insane… like I’m Hitler,” Kanye told a stunned audience, as we also informed you at the time.

“One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did,” he added.

“Michael Jordan changed so much in basketball, he took his power to make a difference. It’s so much [expletive]-ing going on in music right now and somebody has to make a [expletive]-ing difference,” the rapper further said.
