Rapper tells GQ all the right people were there for his big day with Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married in a much mediated ceremony in Italy, but despite rumors to the contrary, his good friend and supposed best man Jay Z and wife Beyonce weren’t in attendance. The media called it a “snub” but Kanye insists that whoever was supposed to be there, was there.

When word first got out that Kanye and Kim had moved on from their friendship and started dating, voices online pointed out that, compared to her previous beaus / husbands / fiancés (Kris Humphries, Ray J, Reggie Bush), she was moving up.

Kanye and Jay Z are tight in real life and they’re also frequent collaborators, which means Kanye gets to spend a lot of time with him and his wife, Beyonce. It was assumed that he would introduce Kim to his A-list circle in the blink of an eye, which turned out to be accurate.

That didn’t stop the rumor mill from saying that Beyonce hated Kim and having to associate with her because, while she, Beyonce, was an artist in every sense of the word, Kim was “just” a reality star, a woman who had achieved fame and riches by basically selling her private life to the media.

So, naturally, when Beyonce and Jay skipped the wedding, everyone assumed they did because they couldn’t stand Kim and would not be part of her farcical, televised ceremony.

Kanye sat down for an interview with the latest issue of GQ magazine and it’s as full of Kanyeisms, as you might expect. He also talks about how his supposed friend and his spouse skipped his wedding, and seems to shrug the whole thing off.

“All that, I wouldn’t even speak on,” he tells the mag. “It doesn’t even matter to me whatsoever, who would show up. Because the most important person to show up there, to me, was Kim. And that’s all that matters to me. I had to fight for that for seven years.”

Somehow, he is more convincing when he says that than Kris Jenner who, a little over a month ago, said that “no one cared” that Bey and Jay weren’t in attendance. Unlike Kris, Kanye doesn’t care about ratings and money coming in from the reality show, just like he doesn’t care about how famous Kim is on her own. He would love her just the same if she were a nobody, mostly because he knows he’s famous enough for the both of them.

In the same interview, the rapper lashes out at the report that he had a “golden toilet shower” installed right next to the guests’ tables. He doesn’t exactly deny that such a thing was there, going instead for the insider who spilled his guts to the press to demean him or her.

“For the person that wrote that, were they involved with anything last year that was as culturally significant as the Yeezus tour or that album? They didn’t even talk there about the photographs, or the dress, or Andrea Bocelli singing, or the marble tables. They’re like: ‘It’s a gold toilet.’ No,” Kanye says.

As much as he claims he doesn’t read his own negative press, he sure likes to keep up to speed with some of the most vicious tabloid reports about him and Kim.
