Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian were married for a mere 72 days and dated for under a year, but their divorce is turning into a nasty one. Kanye West, Kim’s current beau, has also been deposed in the proceedings, it has emerged.

Kris and Kim’s divorce story is a very complicated one, almost as complicated as their marriage was brief, as lovers of celebrity gossip must know.

She filed the papers without as much as telling him beforehand (he found out in the press), seeking a traditional divorce.

In return, Kris is looking for an annulment based on fraud, on the claims that he was “lured” into the marriage for a profit (not his, that is) and wasn’t even told. He’s saying the marriage was a sham from the start but, as of now, is yet to provide evidence to sustain that.

On the latest court appointment, Kim’s attorney argued that she was “handcuffed” to Humphries, who was deliberately prolonging the proceedings, TMZ reports.

It also notes that Kim’s current boyfriend, Kanye West, has already been deposed in the proceedings, even though she hasn’t been yet.

“Kanye West has officially been dragged into the longest, most ridiculous divorce case ever – Kris Humphries made Kim's rapper/bf sit for a deposition,” the celebrity e-zine reports.

This is just another move to prolong the proceedings, Kardashian’s attorney Laura Wasser said, as cited by the same media outlet.

“She [Kim] is now handcuffed to Mr. Humphries,” she explained in court, calling the move on Humphries’ part a “fishing expedition.”

TMZ also reports that Kris is now trying to have the prenup he signed before the wedding disregarded by “raising issues over [it].” In doing so, he’s hoping to get money from Kim, which he could not do before thanks to the prenup.

“The judge said he'll set a trial date February 15. Hey, it's the day after Valentine's Day. Sweet,” TMZ concludes. Indeed.
