As much negative media attention he gets and as often as he is criticized for his behavior both on and off-stage, Kanye West is still in the good graces of the public, as his surprise appearance at Coachella 2015 over the weekend proves.

This is the second week for the music festival, held in Indio, California, and Kanye just returned from a family trip (which doubled as a storyline on Keeping Up with the Kardashians) in Armenia, Israel and France.

He had not announced plans to perform at Coachella, and just popped up on stage during The Weeknd’s set. Obviously, the latter artist knew of the interruption and he gladly shared the stage with the famous rapper.

A video of Kanye’s set, which included the new song “All Day” and several tracks from his previous album, “Yeezus,” is embedded below, as posted by one of the concertgoers in attendance on Instagram. “All Day” is available in full on YouTube, but *please be advised that discretion is recommended when viewing it because it contains graphic language that might offend.

Back to the point I was trying to make above, you can hear the crowd going wild over Kanye during this surprise cameo. He may rant and rage and be an obnoxious, ego-centric fool as much as he likes, because the crowds still love him.
