No, the recent feud was not “a setup,” talk show host insists on Twitter

Kanye West is known for his highly flammable temper and a certain inability to mince his words, particularly when he’s angry, so not many were surprised to hear that he went on an epic Twitter rant after Jimmy Kimmel did a spoof of his BBC interview.

However, now that Kimmel has confirmed that Kanye will be his guest on his new show, one can’t help but wonder if the “feud” wasn’t just a PR stunt meant to get the rapper more publicity for his album and new tour.

“Tomorrow night my guest will be @kanyewest,” Kimmel says on Twitter. “For real, yes and was it all a setup, no,” he adds, anticipating that many will assume he and Kanye have been fake-feuding all along.

My guess is we’ll see when the show airs: if Kimmel confronts Kanye about the rant, then it was probably not staged. If they act as if they’re still friends or even joke about it, it was never for real.

Meanwhile, above is Kimmel’s account of the “feud.” I have to admit, even if it was fake, it did provide good comedy material.
