During a recent promo concert, Kanye West performed his brand new album in its entirety, the critically acclaimed “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” While on the mic, he also took about 10 minutes to speak his mind about the events that have gotten him press throughout the years.

As the video below will confirm, though he said more than once he’s come to terms with the events that have gotten him under fire from the public and the media, he’s not over them completely.

Kanye began by thanking the fans, saying his glorious return would not have been possible without them, especially since the entire industry seemed determined to turn its back on him.

“I always felt like I could do anything, but now I feel so fearless,” the rapper said, clearly overjoyed by the reception to his album which, as he puts it too, got perfect scores “all across the board.”

“To do an album after the after the year that I’ve had and all the ‘Your career is over.’ To come back and do 100,000 the first day digital alone... what that number says is that people want me to keep making music,” Kanye added as the crowd screamed in agreement.

Soon enough though, the rapper was off the topic of music and back into the same routine. He compared what happened to him on The Today Show, where he believes Matt Lauer tried to force answers out of him, to an abuse victim getting satisfaction.

“If you’re a child that’s being abused by your parent, or you’re a girl that’s being abused by your boyfriend, the greatest win you can ever have is for that person to hit you in public! You see? YOU SEE! I TOLD YOU!” the rapper yelled, already getting heated up.

“When you do things like what happened last year, it’s disrespectful to everyone as creators,” he continued. “If I wasn’t drunk I would have been on stage longer,” he added, referring to the VMAs 2009, when he interrupted Taylor Swift during his acceptance speech.

“Everyone wants to villainize people... what I said about George Bush... I was emotional, that was not exactly the way I wanted to word it. But I rode it, I rode it. Just as Taylor never came to my defense in any interview, and rode the wave, and rode it, and rode it,” the rapper added.

In other words, what Kanye is trying to say is that he didn’t mean to call Bush a racist but it came out that way because he didn’t nuance his words more carefully.

Secondly, he believes Taylor Swift should have spoken well of him even after the VMAs, especially since he’d apologized for his rude behavior. Then, Matt Lauer (and the media in general) is out to villainize him because he’s famous and brings in massive ratings.

Below is the entire rant in which Kanye West lets loose and speaks his mind. *Strong caution is recommended as it contains profanities and language that may be considered offensive.
