During his recent performance at the Wireless Music Festival in London's Finsbury Park, Kanye West learned that if you come up on stage, you'd better have something more than your charming personality to show off. The controversial rapper, known for turning his performances into philosophical discussions that often end up as angry rants, managed to annoy the festival goers, who didn't hesitate to boo him relentlessly.

Bringing the show from his recent tour Yeezus, Kanye showed up on stage wearing a bejeweled mask that covered his face completely and spent a grand total of 20 minutes ranting on stage instead of singing.

Needless to say, fans that paid good money to listen to music were not very pleased with being lectured and hearing the great Kanye West gripe about things he doesn't like about the world. Some of them took to Twitter to further blast the Yeezus rapper, “If anyone is going to wireless tomorrow GET A REFUND! Kanye sings for 20 minutes then literally does a speech for 35 minutes!! (sic).”

Videos of the performance taken by people in the audience show a lot of booing going on as Kanye struggles to get his point across about discrimination and the fashion industry from the festival stage. He told the people who were waiting for him to sing, “I'm not going to mention any names but... Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don't discriminate against me 'cos I'm a black man making music (sic).”

Seeing that Kanye simply wouldn't let up and continue his set, music fans in attendance simply began leaving the performance “in droves,” according to the Daily Mail. One fan is quoted as saying, “He was laying into the 'machine' and ranting about the public's perception of him. Hundreds of people left the park early because they were so bored of his long rant. There was serious booing towards the end of the speech, as people got so fed up and just wanted to hear him perform.”

Social media reviews of the performance were all in the lines of “Serious booing during Kanye's obligatory 15 minute Runaway rant at Wireless. Just get the [expletive] on with it mate. (sic)” or “There is a time and a place to get on your soap box @kanyewest and #wireless is not the place.”

The bad news was that Kanye West was one of the headliners for the festival, so this did not bode well with the organizers. Fortunately for them, there were other acts lined up that managed to save some face for the musical event overall. Among them were Pharrell Williams, Foes and Ella Eyre.
