Of course everyone knows Kanye West as a talented, albeit temperamental rapper, but Kanye is also making significant revenue from designing sneakers. He made sure that people were aware of his creative skills when it came to footwear after he began dissing Nike during his every concert.

The rapper has made a move from Nike to Adidas since and now he's ready to release a new model upon the world which is going to be called … wait for it … Yeezi. Previously, the show was going to be called Air Yeezi, but because it was very similar to his Nike model, he had it changed.

Kanye announced his new show line would be coming this year in June during a passionate speech at the Adidas Global Brand Conference in Germany. “Creativity is my oxygen, I have to create. And I don't care how crazy I look to anyone; as long as I can make the best product for all of you,” said an impassioned Kanye.

He went on to reveal that “So, I've been waiting my entire life for the ability to create on multiple platforms. I always dreamed of having a record deal and being able to make music, being able to rap and that dream was accomplished.”

He also mentioned that crating sneakers has been a dream of his ever since he was a kid, “To get to the point to be able to make your own shoe and have people react to it was such an amazing feeling that I could never let that go.”

Adidas seems to be excited to have landed a deal with Kanye, despite the fact that the singer first had his eyes firmly set on Nike. They put out the Nike Air Yeezys in 2009, but soon after things started getting sour in the collaboration over creative control and Kanye left, but not before he badmouthed the brand every chance he got.

The last time Kanye put out a sneaker model, it sold out immediately, in a matter of minutes. The model was called Nike Air Yeezy II Red October and is was sold through a limited sale that was announced online but managed to deplete the stock in 11 minutes flat.

Of course, it's worth noting that soon after the sale ended, Red October sneakers immediately began popping up online, being resold at outrageous prices, indicating that people bought them only because it was a limited sale and because they had Kanye's name attached to them.
