Kanotix, a rock-solid Linux distro based on Debian, which contains the newest packages and recognizes more modern hardware than any other operating system in use today, is now at version 2012-05.

Kanotix actually comes in two flavors, one called HellFire and the other one is Dragonfire. The main difference between them is that the first one, Hellfire, is based on Debian 6.0.5, and the second one, Dragonfire, is based on Debian 7.

Kanotix Hellfire 2012-05 incorporates apps like KDE SC 4.4.5, Iceweasel 12.0, Icedove 3.1.16, Pidgin 2.10.4, Linux kernel 3.2.0-24, LibreOffice 3.5.3, Wine 1.4, Grub2 1.99, and AcritoxInstaller 0.2.25.

Kanotix Dragonfire 2012-05 has KDE SC 4.8.3 (Acritox Backports), Iceweasel 12.0, Icedove 3.1.16, Pidgin 2.10.4, Linux kernel 3.2.0-24, LibreOffice 3.5.3, Wine 1.4, Grub2 1.99, AcritoxInstaller 0.2.25, and VLC 2.0.1.
