Kanguru Solutions has been researching and developing secure portable storage products ever since it was established in 1992. One of the most well-known of these storage solutions is none other than the Kanguru Defender Elite flash drive. This product uses the 256-bit AES encryption in order to protect the stored data against unwanted access and also has a host of features that enhance its usability. Now, aiming to provide this very same device with protection against viruses and malware, the company has entered a strategic partnership with BitDefender.

Through this partnership, Kanguru aims to outfit its flash device with world-class antivirus protection. The goal is to create a portable storage solution that is as manageable as it is safe. The device comes with up to 128GB of storage space, is already tamper resistant and can be remotely managed. To this functionality, Kanguru will add BitDefender-developed real-time virus and malware scanning.

“Not only does the Kanguru Defender Elite protect your data, but it also helps to safeguard your computer as well.” Noah Manders, product manager at Kanguru Solutions, added. “Our customers can rest easy knowing that when our drives are connected to their computer, they aren’t bringing along any unwanted viruses or malware.”

“Unprotected flash drives have become a vehicle for spreading malware to computers,” Peter Laakkonen, general manager, OEM and technology licensing at BitDefender, explained. “Our partnership with Kanguru and their use of BitDefender’s technology will further expand and increase the level of protection provided by Kanguru’s flash drives to knock-out more threats before they have a chance to reach the user’s computer.”

In addition to the added antivirus protection, Kanguru also provides customers with USB device control, connection and update services and even remote management via the Kanguru Remote Management Console (KRMC). Full information on the USB flash storage device can be found on the official product page.
