The developers team behind the KOffice suite announced yesterday, March 5, the release of KOffice 2.0 Beta 7, which is also expected to be the final step before the Release Candidate (RC). "This may very well be the last beta so it is very important that our users give us feedback and report remaining bugs. The goal of this beta is to allow testers and users to stay up-to-date with the work of the developers and keep providing useful bug reports.", said Cyrille Berger & Inge Wallin in the official release announcement.

The applications that are included in this Beta are: KWord - Word processor, KSpread - Spreadsheet creator, KPresenter - Presentations creator, KPlato - Project management tool, Karbon - Vector graphics editor and Krita - Raster graphics editor. The KChart application for creating charts is now available throughout the whole KOffice suite in the form of a shape plugin.

Highlights of KOffice 2.0 Beta 7:

· Many crashes fixed in KOffice Libraries;
· The bug that prevented loading and saving of shapes in text shape in KWord to work correctly was fixed;
· A cell edit bug was fixed in KSpread;
· The format of a master page is now being used in KPresenter when using a layout;
· Many bugfixes in Krita;
· SVG is now better supported in Karbon;
· Pasting can be undone in Krita;
· The default shapes collection can now be customized in Karbon;
· Fixed a crash that occurred when deleting a page in KWord;
· Fixed a bug that froze KWord after clicking on the print preview button;
· Fixed a crash that occurred in KSpread after trying to save an embedded chart;
· Fixed a crash that occurred when a chart was inserted in KSpread;
· Fixed a crash that occurred during the autocompletion of a formula.
