Windows 8.1

is already being employed by lots of people out there, so it was only a matter of time before someone found a way to activate pirated copies of the operating system.

It turns out that KMS activation for Windows 8.1 is now possible using a standard procedure that involves specifically designed apps and custom hosts.

Microsoft won’t be pleased with this news, that’s for sure, but the company will most likely block all these pirated copies of Windows 8.1 as soon as possible.

As you probably know by now, Windows 8.1 is available free of charge to all Windows 8 users via the Store, but a retail package is also being offered to consumers of older versions of Windows, with pricing starting at $119.99 (€90).

The professional version has a price tag of $199.99 (€150) and can be found online or at Microsoft retailers worldwide.
