Although style conscious users have no shortage of paper thin HDTVs from where to choose from, things are a lot different when it comes down to speakers, as most audiophile grade offerings available feature some massive enclosures, so KEF designed the T Series speakers to complement today's stylish flat panel televisions and offer serious audiophile quality sound from exceptionally thin speakers.

And thin they indeed are, as the cabinets are just 35mm deep, in order to reach this impressive feat KEF using a ultra-low profile bass and midrange driver, and a large, fully vented new tweeter.

Furthermore, midrange sounds are assured by a new large diaphragm tweeter developed directly from the company's Concept Blade loudspeaker project.

But KEF's innovations don't stop here as the T Series speakers use the company's own mount system, dubbed Selecta, which uses a clever internal connecting system to automatically adjust the crossover depending on how the loudspeaker is mounted.

The T Series flat panel speaker lineup includes three system components, the small satellite T101 / T101c, the large satellite T301 / T301c and the T-2 subwoofer, the company selling these both as stand-alone units (except for the subwoofer) as well as part of a kit.

"With cabinets measuring just 35mm thick, the new T Series delivers the superior sound quality of a conventional loudspeaker in the form of a low-profile, ultra-slim speaker," said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America.

"Combined with today's slim flat panel TVs, the T Series enables home owners to enjoy the luxury of a high-performance entertainment system without the bulkiness that a typical AV system would include."

The small and large satellites sell for $249.99 and $349.99 respectively, the T305 system featuring four T301 satellite speakers, one T301c center channel and a T-2 subwoofer retailing for $1,999.99 while the T205 system which features two T301 satellite speakers, two T101 satellite speakers, one T301c center channel and a T-2 subwoofer being available for $1,799.99.

Finally, the entry level T105 system, which features four T101 satellite speakers, one T101c center channel and a T-2 subwoofer, retails for $1,499.99.
