Just in time for Christmas, the KDE development team proudly unleashed a minutes ago, December 22nd, the first Release Candidate version of the upcoming and highly anticipated KDE Software Compilation 4.8 environment. KDE Software Compilation 4.8 Release Candidate brings hundreds of bug fixes and general improvements. The final release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.8 environment, in January 2012, will contain lots of interesting features.
KDE SC 4.8 will have Qt Quick in Plasma Workspaces, an updated device notifier widget written in QML, a QML-based KWin window switcher, improved file view of Dolphin including a more attractive visual appearance, as well as lots of general performance improvements and assorted bugfixes.
