Download and test KDE Software Compilation 4.8 Beta 2

The KDE team proudly unleashed a few hours ago, December 7th, the second Beta release of the upcoming and highly anticipated KDE Software Compilation 4.8 environment, bringing lots of bugfixes.

The final release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.8 environment, in January 2012, will contain features such as Qt Quick in Plasma Workspaces, an updated device notifier widget written in QML, a QML-based KWin window switcher, improved file view of Dolphin including a more attractive visual appearance, as well as lots of general performance improvements and assorted bugfixes.

"Compared to Beta1, Beta2 contains hundreds of fixes. Please give this release another good round of testing to help us release a rock-solid 4.8 in January." - was stated in the official announcement.

Download KDE Software Compilation 4.8 Beta 2 sources right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
