KDE had the pleasure of announcing today, May 12, the immediate availability for download and upgrade of the first point release of their KDE Applications 15.04 software suite for the KDE Plasma 5 desktop.

KDE Applications 15.04.1 is here to squash over 50 bugs that have been reported by users since the previous version, KDE Apps 15.04, which was announced a month ago, on April 15, 2015. It improves many of the internal components (kdelibs) and applications.

"Today KDE released the first stability update for KDE Applications 15.04. This release contains only bugfixes and translation updates, providing a safe and pleasant update for everyone," was stated in today's announcement.

Among the software packages that received attention in the KDE Applications 15.04.1 update, we can mention the Kdenlive video editor, Okular document viewer, Marble world atlas, Umbrello IDE, and KDE PIM Personal Information Management suite.

The first maintenance release of KDE Apps 15.04 also includes Long Term Support (LTS) versions of the KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11.19, Kontact Suite 4.14.8, and KDE Development Platform 4.14.8. You can download KDE Applications 15.04.1 right now from KDE.

The update should arrive in your KDE-based Linux distribution in the coming days. As usual, Arch Linux users are among the first to get the KDE Apps 15.04.1 update today!
