The KDE Project has announced a few minutes ago, January 7, the immediate availability for download and update of the fifth maintenance release for the KDE Software Compilation 4.11 desktop environment.

KDE SC 4.11.5 is here to repair numerous bugs reported by users in the previous release. It improves the Kontact PIM (Personal Information Management) suite, the Umbrello UML utility, the KWin window manager, as well as the Konqueror web browser, which features better support for web fonts.

This maintenance release also improves the Okular document viewer, which can now print pages with long titles, the Dolphin file manager, and the Plasma calculator, which can now handle Greek letters.

"These updates are the fifth in a series of monthly stabilization updates to the 4.11 series. As was announced on the release, the workspaces will continue to receive updates until August 2015. This release only contains bugfixes and translation updates and will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone," the official release announcement reads.
