The KDE Project proudly announced a few minutes ago, July 2, the immediate availability for download and update of the fifth and last maintenance release for the KDE Software Compilation 4.10 desktop environment.

KDE 4.10.5 squashes over 30 bugs reported by users from the previous release, making KDE Software Compilation 4.10 more reliable and stable. This release also improves Kontact, the Personal Information Management suite, and Dolphin, the default file manager.

With this piece of news, we also inform users that this is the last maintenance release for KDE 4.10. The next stable release will be KDE 4.11, which will be unveiled on August 14, 2013.

"4.10.5 updates bring many bugfixes and translation updates on top of the 4.10 release and are recommended updates for everyone running the 4.10 release series."

"As this release only contains bugfixes and translation updates, it will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone," the official release announcement read.
