While KDE 4 Beta 1 was just released today, a version that marks the stabilizing of foundations for the new major release of KDE, the team prepared a wallpaper contest for all of you KDE users out there!

Here are the official contest rules:

￭ You can send as many wallpapers as you like, but if you want to send more than one, it is recommended that you should zip/tar the files before sending them.
￭ The name and the e-mail address must be valid, as these are the ones that will be credited. The team will contact you before announcing the winners through that e-mail address (in case you win).
￭ All the wallpapers must be released under a free license, like CC or LGPL. The final decision will be taken with you at the end of the contest, so that the KDE team will be able to ship all the wallpapers under the same license (so as to avoid problems).
￭ Any type of image, 3D art, vectors, photos, and pixmaps is allowed. Note though that, because this contest is for wallpapers, big images are required. So, sizes equal or bigger than 1900x1200 are a bonus. Sending different resolutions of the same wallpaper is deeply appreciated.
￭ The limit for uploads on the server is around 6 MBytes. If you encounter any problems with files around that size, please make them smaller.
￭ Accepted extensions are: jpg jpeg bmp gif png svg svgz (tar.)bz2 (tar.)gz zip rar
￭ Because the server doesn't have unlimited bandwidth, please use common sense when uploading images. Do not upload enormous images! Basically, treat this upload server as if it were your own and respect it.
￭ You can include any README or file that you want them to read in the same zip with the images.

The winner wallpapers will ship as default set in KDE 4!!!

Be advised that all submissions will be accepted until the 20/08/2007, at 00:00 CET (Italy, Germany, etc...)
