The second maintenance release of KDE4 was released a few hours ago, as the KDE Community announced.

KDE 4.0.2 brings you a lot of stability, performance improvements and many updated translations for most of its components. It is already translated into 48 languages and more are coming soon.

Here are some of the changes in KDE 4.0.2:

￭ New features in Plasma. The size and position of the panel can now be configured, the visibility of a number of options is now improved to makes it easier for new users to discover how Plasma works and what it provides.
￭ Farsi and Icelandic versions of KDE 4.0.2 further improve localisation, other translations have been improved further. KDE 4.0.2 is available in 49 languages.
￭ Repainting issues have been addressed in the KHTML webbrowser engine. KHTML now also supports more websites by accepting more non-HTML4-compliant documents.
￭ Several stability issues have been fixed in Kopete, KDE's instant messenger and Okular, the document reader.

The next maintenance release of KDE4, KDE 4.0.3, will be released at the end of March, including more updates and bugfixes. This summer, KDE 4.1 will be available and will be based on Qt 4.4 with all its performance and functionality improvements.

In other news, KDE 3.5.9 was updated two weeks ago and it brings bugfixes to applications such as
KMail, KOrganizer, KAlarm and even KAddressbook.
