Major Japanese carrier KDDI has just unveiled its upcoming handsets that are scheduled to be released by the end of 2011.

It looks like that the carrier plans to launch six Android devices and only two feature-phones. The most interesting seems to be the Arrows Z smartphone.

Manufactured by Fujitsu Toshiba joint-venture, Arrows Z will be released with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board.

As Japanese handset manufacturers have a thing for waterproof phone, the Arrows Z will feature a waterproof body and will be delivered with an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper.

Furthermore, the smartphone has a large 4.3-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, as well as WiMAX, Wi-Fi, e-wallet function and digital TV tuner.

Kyocera DIGNO ISW11K is another handset powered by Google's Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread platform, which is expected to hit shelves in December.

The phone is equipped with a dual core Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and a large 4.3-inch 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution.

Sharp AQUOS PHONE IS13SH stands out thanks to its brilliant 4.2-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen and sleek form factor.

The smartphone is only 8.9mm thick and is equipped with a powerful dual core Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.4GHz.

It is powered by Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and sports an 8-megapixel camera, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and DLNA support.

Just like Sharp's AQUOS PHONE IS13SH, NEC MEDIAS BR IS11N embeds a similar 1.4GHz dual core CPU, but this one is a newer generation (QSD8655).

The rest of the phone's features include: Android 2.3.5, 3.6-inch LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, 8-megapixel main camera, digital TV tuner, infrared and e-wallet function.

Of the two feature-phones, Sony Ericsson URBANO AFFARE stands out with its 3.3-inch LCD main display with 854 x 480 pixels resolution and secondary 1.1-inch e-ink screen.

In addition, the clamshell sports an 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, digital TV tuner, infrared and e-wallet function.
