It looks like NTT DoCoMo isn't very happy about the fact that both Softbank and KDDI have attracted more customers lately and they went on and released no less than 10 new mobile phones, out of which the D800iDS, a handset with two LCDs which was up until now a concept phone.

To prove that Asian mobile operators don't joke around and release just one or two phones each three or four months, KDDI has also announced its spring collection, including 10 new mobile phones. One of them, the Media Skin, seems to be the rival of DoCoMo's D800iDS. Also presented as a concept phone, the Media Skin brings a pretty nice set of features and a minimalist design that will appeal to quite a few people.

The rest of the phones presented pretty much follow the same pattern, coming with a clamshell form factor and some features that KDDI customers are probably used to by now. The Spring collection features the 20mm thick W51K, which appears to be manufactured by Panasonic and the W51H that comes with a wide screen with a VGA resolution and a fingerprint reader.

The W51CA, manufactured by Casio appears to be pretty similar to Hitachi's W51H, the W51SA comes with 1GB of internal memory, while the W52T also brings a wide screen with VGA resolution and Bluetooth. What's certain is that KDDI customers will now have what mobile phones to choose from, and finding an adequate phone will not be a problem.

On the other hand, Japanese people who are trying to decide whether to go with DoCoMo or KDDI will have to seriously analyze the situation and the ten new phones each mobile operator is currently offering.
