If you're looking for a really powerful codec pack, chances are that at some point someone recommends you K-Lite, a really powerful solution that comprises basically everything you would ever need to play your multimedia files with ease.

An update released this morning is supposed to make K-Lite Codec Pack even faster and more reliable, as it brings improvements for the built-in utilities and addresses any bugs that might exist in older versions.

The release notes reveal that this fresh build of the codec pack includes MPC-HC version number 1.7.5.108, LAV Filters 0.61.2-31-g0c8c081 and GraphStudioNext 0.6.1.385.

While this doesn't say much to the average Joe, the essential modules that are part of the codec pack have all been updated, so in case you're running this software already, make sure that you deploy the new build as soon as possible.

If you're wondering, K-Lite Codec Pack still works on Windows XP, the old version of Windows that no longer receives updates and security patches from Microsoft. Many vendors have already confirmed extended support for Windows XP and the developing team behind K-Lite Codec Pack is one of those not wanting to give up on XP for the time being.

All in all, this fresh update should come as a great treat for those who previously experienced issues with multimedia file playback, so download K-Lite Codec Pack 10.5.2 to see what's new.
