K-Fed the Hero? Think Again...

- I guess Brad Pitt can breathe easy now

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

Now don't you just love Kevin Federline? I kid, I kid, I know you probably don't and neither do I – but I must say I've always had mixed feelings about this guy. I think that he sort of defines that whole "the right man at the right place at the right time" cliché. I mean, if we take him as such, he's not much to begin with. He's a former back-up dancer who married a pop superstar – and the rest is pretty much history. He tried to be a rapper, even assumed a pseudonym that was bound to make him seem more serious about his musical ambitions – but "K-Fed" failed to sell and that was pretty much the end of it. Ever since, Federline has managed to make himself look good by... well, not doing too much. He turned himself into a full-time dad, and despite him living largely from the money he gets from
Britney for child support, he seems to be doing a good job of keeping his boys safe.

Which, given the magnitude of the Britney daily circus, is saying something. He's always on time when he goes to court, and thank heavens, we haven't seen him whoring out Sean Preston and Jayden James the way Larry Birkhead is doing with Anna Nicole Smith' poor baby girl. On second thought, maybe I should bite my tongue on that one. But to K-Fed, at least, being the estranged former husband of a mentally deranged woman who took one of her own sons hostage a couple of weeks ago is no big deal. "People put it up on this pedestal when it's really the same way that everybody else goes through their stuff, you know?", Federline states in a recent interview. "It's not really any different". I would tend to disagree on that one but hey – who knows, maybe Brit Brit married Superman in disguise and the world never knew.

"Even though everything is so publicized and everybody is looking at it, it's normal for us", he also said. "I think the infatuation with the whole thing is that watching us go through things makes other people feel normal". Well, I think he has a point there. I mean, even the craziest person in this world would feel normal when put next to Britney's antics. From drugs to alcohol to casual sex to mental illness and outrageous public behavior, it's all there and the circus freak show that Britney's life has turned into is still going strong. Asked if he's now America's most famous father, K-Fed seemed to find the whole idea very amusing. "I don't know. Brad Pitt's pretty up there, too". Well, at least he seems to have a sense of humor. With this kind of madness going on in his life, I'm sure he needs one, too.
