If you ever need to talk to Justin Timberlake, you can probably find him 'in the club', as he announced that his next single, titled "She Wants It", would feature 50 Cent and will be produced by the famed Timbaland, who's on a roll lately, riding the commercial wave while scoring hit after hit.
This brand new single will be about male fantasies such as pornography, hi-tech gadgets and so on. Justin says that, although he is notorious for his hot videos, this one will clearly cross the line, as he is willing to find out just how much eroticism can you show on TV. Justin's fans probably can't wait for this feature and the other speculated collaborations with more seasoned stars such as Madonna and Coldplay, as it clearly seems that the young star is aiming at working with established legends, while distancing himself from past mistakes such as banging Britney.
The video is due to be filmed in L.A. in a few days from now, by director Joseph Kahn. This is clearly a "boys club" thing, in the best tradition of MTV's raunchy R&B and hip-hop videos, and clearly stating, as if we didn't know, that Justin is "bringing sexy back". Or maybe he's trying to get himself banned on TV by creating this "rebel / bad boy" image everyone loves so much. Let us hope that he's not going to end up like those other rebels that we know of, like James Dean, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison. They tried to bring sexy back as well. And they did...
The fun thing about this new project, initially entitled "Ayo Technology", is that they'll be trying to use metaphors (oh joy...), associating hi tech gear with sex and using voyeuristic devices such as X-ray glasses. The main idea is about the two guys (Justin and Fitty) being unsatisfied of having to just watch porn, thus going on a hunt for girls using their spy hardware, James Bond style. If we are to believe Chris Rock's rants about 50 Cent, the terms "metaphors", "analogies" and "technology" will be quite the intellectual challenge for the rapper, as getting "shot in the mouth more times than Jenna Jameson" probably leaves a trace or two...
This new single will feature on 50 Cent's upcoming album, called "Curtis" which is due in September. That might also be a problem, as "She Wants It" is the sixth single released from the album, a little too much for the industry (or so people say), indicating some form of bad management. Hey, if I heard on TV six songs from an album, I don't think I would be interested in buying the rest, unless it's a very long disc, a very cheap one or a very good one. Let's just wait and see.
