The 2001 hit comedy “Zoolander” has remained as popular as ever despite the passing of the years, and the characters depicted in the movie are still very much in vogue today, which is kind of sad if you think about it since they're becoming more and more relevant to today's society.

If you've enjoyed the movie that has given birth to so many internet memes, then you're in for good news: there is a sequel coming and the production process is really moving along, after all those years of speculations.

Justin Theroux, the actor who had a small part in the first movie, has confirmed to Vulture that there is work getting done at the moment on the movie and that there are definitely plans to release “Zoolander 2,” with Ben stiller acting no less.

Jennifer Aniston's fiancé revealed that “we've got a script for the sequel, and we've just been in talks again. We're trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don't want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”

When questioned if Ben Stiller, the man who played Zoolander in the first movie, was going to appear, Justin replied, “I met with Ben Stiller a couple of times when I was in New York.” The actor was present in the Big Apple where he was filming for the HBO drama “The Leftovers.”

The next question would be whether Owen Wilson and Cristine Taylor would also make a return to the sequel. For the moment, fans are going to have to make do with the fact that a sequel is finally getting made after all those years of speculation and eager anticipation.

The first time the sequel rumors started was back in 2008, when Stiller revealed to the press that he would like to bring back Derek Zoolander to the screen and pair him off with Owen Wilson's character, but nothing came out of those talks.

Two years later, Stiller was still talking about the movie, except that this time he was believed to have an early version of the script, or at least a general idea about it. Now, four years after the last sign, we have confirmation that the project has moved along nicely and is getting ready for filming.

Oh, and as the cherry on the cake, there is talk that the movie's new villain will be played by Jonah Hill, an actor familiar to you from movies such as “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Superbad.”
