Back in February, there was widespread speculation that Justin Bieber was going to replace the late Paul Walker as the main actor in the “Fast & Furious” action movie series. Fans did not respond well to that rumor, so let's see how they feel about this one: Justin is not set to take on the role of the baddie in the next “Expendables” movie.

According to the Daily Star, the young Canadian pop star is being eyed by the series' creator, Sylvester Stallone. It all started as a joke, when the current film's cast suggested that Bieber be included in the next movie, but actor and director Sylvester Stallone loved the idea and thinks Justin has what it takes to turn the next movie into a hit.

When questioned about the possibility of starring Bieber, Stallone said he wanted to “freshen up” the series by adding young actors to the cast. The “Expendables” made their name by reuniting former ‘80s and ‘90s action stars, so the age average was pretty high compared to other movies.

Stallone has been keeping an eye on Bieber and his antics, and he thinks that the naturally rebellious nature would make him the perfect candidate for the role of the bad guy in his next action project, as well as bringing in younger audience into movie cinemas.

Because most of the actors belong to a different generation, the movies have a certain appeal for fans of a special demographic, so Sly wants to tap in a new one by bringing in Bieber. On paper, it could work.

It's interesting to see Sylvester already planning his fourth film in the franchise when the third one that recently opened at the box office was deemed as a commercial failure by critics and did poorly in terms of ticket sales.

But the idea of Bieber in the action franchise isn't rubbing everyone in the right way. For example, Randy Couture, who's starred in all of the movies so far, said on the issue, “Honestly, I just don't see that.”

A source from inside the movie's production has confirmed that this rumor is creating some tensions between cast members, “Sly is not ruling out having Bieber on board – even though it has unsettled some of his cast mates.”

In the meantime, voices from Justin Bieber's entourage are claiming the young singer is keen to get serious with his acting career and he thinks that this role will give him the “street cred” that he so desperately covets.
