Prosecutors are trying to get the case to move to trial

Justin Bieber is still not off the hook from that January DUI bust in Miami. Try as he might, the pop singer can't keep his nose clean, and it seems that lately he's been spending more time in courtrooms rather than in the studio, with even a brief stint in jail in spring.

Now, a hearing is being organized later today in connection with his Miami DUI case, and prosecutors are said to be trying to move the case to trial, accusing Bieber of driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

Bieber is not expected to be present in court, as the hearing is between the prosecutors and his legal defenders, trying to determine if the singer will be tried or if there will be a plea deal in place.

The singer is at the moment still vacationing on the Spanish island of Ibiza, where he made headlines when he got into an altercation with Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, over what has since been believed to be a hidden affair with Bloom's wife Miranda Kerr in 2012.

Wherever Bieber goes, controversy seems to follow, and his recent antics might weight heavily with a judge in case the singer goes to trial. The fact that he can't seem to keep his nose clean will make a judge weary of putting him on probation, knowing full-well that the Canadian crooner is just going to get into trouble all over again.

Latest reports indicate that Bieber plans to plead guilty to reckless driving and striking a deal with the prosecution in return for a probation period that will see him avoiding to stand trial for DUI. This is the best way for the singer to avoid jail time, but it relies heavily on his ability to not get into trouble, something at which he's failed at completely so far.

These are not, by far, Justin's only legal woes. The singer received 2 years of supervised probation after he was found guilty of vandalism when he egged a neighbor's house back in February. There's also the case in which he allegedly assaulted a Toronto limo driver, and the case of paparazzo Jeffrey Binion, who's accusing him of assault and theft.

This last case is the one connected to the famous videotaped deposition in which Bieber showed off his bratty behavior and sparked controversy all over the world with his contempt of the American judicial system.
